Indian Point Pier - Part II
Portland, Texas

Big Ugly's @ Indian Point Pier!

Big Ugly #1 44" long - Approx. 45 pounds maybe MORE!!!
After setting up the last pole I notice a line that was slack
Look at what was on the other end of the line
Not a bad way to start the night!

Big Ugly #2 39" long
Anthony went to the truck to get something and look what Albert hooked up with.
If these fish were any bigger Albert would have to get his little sister to hold up his fish for him.

Big Ugly #3 40" long
Anthony could not be out done by his little brother.
Just to out do Albert he lands the nice fish.

Big Ugly #4 40" long
Shortly after my Dad catches his first fish of the night.
This is another monster.

Big Ugly 38" long
Hank got into the action by landing this fish.
Hank, Victor and Henry are all part of Team C.B.F. in the Shark Rodeo.
They came all the way from Austin to catch some Big Ugly's!

Big Ugly #5 42" long
It was my turn again and look what I was fortunate enough to catch.
This is one big crab eating machine.

Big Ugly #6 40" long
Check this out! Albert's fish are getting bigger and bigger!

Big Ugly #7 42" long - Approx. 40+ pounds
Check out the boys with their grandpa.
I am glad we could convince him to go fishing with us.
They enjoyed fishing with you DAD!

Thanks!!!

Big Ugly #8 41" long
Check out what the boy caught.
Anthony's fish are ALMOST getting bigger than mine.
I did say ALMOST!

Big Ugly #9 38" long
Not to long afterward Anthony hooks up with another BU.

Big Ugly #10 42" long and Henry's BIG 43 incher!
It is now getting wild!
I was trying to land Albert's, Henry's and another fishermen's fish at the same time.
Albert's fish just kept getting bigger. He landed this monster on 20# line. Not bad for a punk!

Did I mention that I was using a Landalot® Net?

Big Ugly #11 42" long
After telling the boy's that they would now be handling the net I proceed to catch this beauty.
O.K. it was a Big Ugly.

Big Ugly #12 35" long
My Dad said he was next and look at what turned up.
A small but still fun to catch BU!
He had some little guests that wanted to be in the picture.
I hope this experience will keep them busy and away from things youngsters today can get into.
I applaud there fathers for taking them fishing.
These boys will never forget the fun they had spending time with there DAD's.

I know I didn't!

Big Ugly #13 40" long
My last fish of the day was the smallest for me.
You do not hear me complaining.

Big Ugly #14 39" long and Henry's 42 incher!
It started to get crazy again!
Another double!

Big Ugly 42" long
Hank kept trying to break the 40" mark and did it with this behemoth!
Nice fish Hank!
Bet your father is proud of you!

Now for the REPORT!

All I can say is that I forgot how crowded the piers could get when fish are being caught! I could not fish my favorite side due to the lack of space on one of the largest T-Head I have seen. Being forced to fish my second choice did not turn out to be a bad thing. I think we did better than the other side of the pier. I saw people catch sand trout after sand trout. Some up to 16 inches. Coolers were being filled! The water must be warming up! Hard heads were being caught on shrimp. Bait down there was in short supply. I have never seen it that bad. Luckily I bought mine at Fiesta. I guess the BU like the imported stuff. Crabs were the bait of choice. We had lice but the smaller fish were taking it quick. In total we caught 18 Big Ugly's from 35 to 44 inches. I think these fish were the biggest Big Ugly's the boys have ever caught. What-a-burger was calling us again, late night eating at it's finest!

Team C.B.F's scores again!

I thank God for blessings he has given this family!
