Gaftop Fever

To our surprise, as soon as we hit the beach we see the "Miss Mallory" stuck in the first gut. Who knows what happened. She was still running and it looked like she was waiting for someone. We did see another boat come and get her out later in the day.

First big run of the day! These birds are bigger than they look. After a quick job of getting the line off it's wing she was off.

Please make sure you pick up all the discarded line you see on the beach.

It KILS our wildlife!

Enrique with the first big gaftop of the day.

Did I mention that we use the Landalot® Net when fishing off a pier like the Dirty Pelican?

Enrique with yet another huge gaftop.

Bull Red #1 44"
Finally we had a decent run and look what Anthony landed. It has been very slow in High Island lately. Maybe this is an indication on better things to come.

For more information on the leaders we used click here Catchalot® Leaders.

I finally get into the action buy catching this big gaftop.

Joe not wanting to be left out catches himself a really nice gaftop.

As the sun went down and before the mosquitoes came out I managed to catch this 28 1/2" redfish. I was tempted to keep it but it was 1/2" too big and too small to tag.
Let it go to catch it when gets to be a 60 incher!

Now for the REPORT!

All I can say is that I had a good time fishing with old friends. It was hard fishing but we had fun. At least it was nice weather for a change. We saw a great verity of different types of fish this weekend. Croaker, Hard heads, Gafftop, Redfish, Black drum and shark ( way too small to post) were all seen this weekend. Good bait was hard to find. The water was dirty but fishable. Hopefully the reds and shark will be back like they were earlier in the year.

Team C.B.F's scores again!

I thank God for blessings he has given this family!
