Introduction
Welcome to CATCHINGBIGFISH.NET!
We specialize in custom fishing equipment
while trying to insure the future of the great sport of fishing.
My name is Oscar and almost always fish with my family or friends. I have
two boy's Anthony and Albert. My wife's name is Priscilla and we have a daughter named
Andie. We fish wherever we think we can catch a big fish. We go after Speckled Trout,
Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead, Whiting, Spanish Mackerel, Snook and Shark. You
name it. As long as it is big and can give a good fight we will try to catch it. We use artificials with
our conventional tackle, dead bait and even go with our fly rods. We typically
release the fish we catch. Don't be mistaken; I do enjoy eating fresh fish.
GOD is GREAT in 2008!
Team C.B.F. is still
in search of that elusive first Tarpon. Priscilla still wants to catch a shark
over 7' feet. Looks like we will be spending alot of time on
the beach soaking BIG baits in 2008! The hard part about catching a big fish
is finding them. We still have our boat and hope to use it more than we did last year. "Force Majeure" is a twenty foot Gulf Coast 200 powered buy a 150 HP Yamaha. It's Sweet!

This is a story of a very unique fish that my friends Enrique and Joe caught on a trip to South Padre Island on the weekend of April 15, 2007. Here is their story,
"We arrived in SPI early in the morning and set up in what we thought was a good spot. Unfortunately, the seaweed was so bad that we decided to move into the jetty channel. The first part of the morning was very slow. After noon was a different story. We land four fair sized stingrays and one red fish that went 39" long. We also had a run on our big rod that took all we had to hold onto until it bit through the leader. Man was it BIG! Later, while Joe was fighting one of the rays this guitarfish bit my hook and at first we didn't know what it was. It jumped out of the water about two/three times. This is my first time catching one or even seeing one, it was a great trip and we are looking forward to make another one soon."
One very nice catches guys. Wish I could have been there. Maybe on your next trip.
