I had been catching a lot of fish on my kayak in Corpus Christi bay When my friend ask if I wanted to fish this tournament with him. It had been extremely HOT so we decided to fish it at night. We get there and could not start the boat. Eventually we connected the fuel line correctly and it worked. Then Ronnie lost the keys when we were in the boat launch. Eventually he found them. They were somewhere safe where he could remember? The ramp was a natural ramp (sand) and he got stuck. The people waiting for the boat ramp pulled us out. So were ready to go fish and we head off. I told Ronnie we need to go to the tank which I described to him. He knew exactly where those were so we were off. Suddenly I felt the boat slow down and those were not the tanks I was talking about. Now it was getting dark. We wondered around for at least 45 minutes until we found a sandbar with the tide flowing over it. I said we will fish here. We did well catching fish all night but the mosquitos were pretty bad.

We ended up catching 7 slot redfish with one big enough to win the Blue Wave Owners Tournament Redfish division and a ton of hardhead's.
BTW this fish was 27-7/8: long and weighed 9.25 pounds. There was one that came in at 28" but it was skinny.
