Fish when the fishing is GOOD!
High Island, Texas

I show up on the beach around 9ish and while I was setting up Enrique and Jeremy arrive. Not too many fishermen on the beach except for some hard core overnighters and duck hunters hunting the federal lands. The wind was out of the ESE and the water was dirty. Perfect for redfish and drum. The water was still cold for me and I guess it will remain that way until next summer. No mullet in the surf at ALL. Croaker and whiting were hard to come by on shrimp. I did manage to catch a keeper red and a decent croaker on the bait rod. Bull redfish and one BU were caught. Most fish were caught on crab or half crab. We did manage on big redfish with a fresh croaker. The tide was moving in all day but seem to accelerate its movement later in the day. Most fish were caught before we had to move the rod holders and no longer able to cast to the second gut. After a lull in the action we decide to unload the yak and get some back out there where we had the baits earlier in the day. Successful move. We ended catching three more fish before it was all over on the yakked baits. Total catch was 1 keeper red, 1 BU and 13 Bull redfish. I want to Thank God for the blessings and friends he has given me. Now for the fish pictures! First red of the day! Was mine but I can’t seem to find the pictures? Hum? Enrique hooked up with his first fish of the day.

Not BAD for 30 min on the beach.

Jeremy with an nice one shortly after Enrique’s.

WTH? Seaweed in November? Just a bit right where I was fishing.

Mine! It’s starting to look like its going to be a GOOD day!

Enrique with a very nice redfish. Too bad I got something on the lens.

Enrique with yet another! Wannabe this picture is for you. Take a look at what the caught this beast with. My Old School rod!

Enrique is starting to get way too LUCKY!

Jeremy and I are starting to feel left out! Like the Cowboy in the playoffs!

This fish was caught on the very last rod on our spread while I was way on the other side. I was out of breath before Ieven touched the rod. LOL!

Jeremy called his Aunt during the earlier action and she managed to show up and catch probably the largest fish of the day. Nice fish Jeremy’s Aunt!

Here I am with a good one. All the younglings wanted to pet the fish!

Enrique with one caught on a big croaker yakked about 150 yards or so.

Jeremy with a very respectable surf caught BU! WTG J!
