With the Holidays upon us I had the boys around the house like old times. Albert was here only for two days and had to head back south to get to work but Anthony was going to be here a couple of days. He and his wife flew down from Tulsa and I was not taking them back to the airport until Sunday.

Eventually the question came up, "Dad - Are you going shopping on Black Friday?". Hell no, I HATE big crowds of crazy people trying to save a buck. So, are we going fishing then? Sure are! The tide was going to be high around 2 and the morning was going to be cold so there was no reason to leave early. I called Joe and told him where we were going to be and he said he was already loading and would meet us there. Live crabs and fresh bait were hard to find. After stopping at SeaPony in Winnie and getting some fresh shrimp we headed out. Bait was hard to come by on the bait rods when we got there. Fresh frozen crab was sent out and we managed to catch two big reds with them. Once the tide came in and the water got a bit warmer we started catching bait and keeper black drum. Shrimp tipped fish bites did the trick. We switched some baits and we caught even more bull reds. Final tally was 5 bull reds, 3 keeper black drum, one keeper redfish and several whiting. It was a great day of catching on a cold windy day on High Island with friends and family.
